Ever since I visited Venice for the first time in 2002, I have had an urge to go kayaking there. In 2009, I happened to get in touch with René Seindal, a Dane living in Italy for many years. René has a company, Venice Kayaks, that takes people kayaking into the canals of the city. So I managed to persuade a few magazines to assign me for some articles on kayaking in Venice. René does not only speak fluent Italian, he also has a doctor´s degree in History meaning that he knows just about anything worth knowing about Venice! We spent three absolutely fabulous days playing around in the canals and the surroundings, among them one night tour in full moon. I strongly recommend this.
