Stockholm Polo Open 2008

Polo is everything but a common Swedish sport. Nonetheless is has been played for a number of years here by a small but enthusiastic group of people. Polo is an ancient sport and has been played since long before B.C. although the rules may have changed a bit. It is played in 77 countries throughout the world and was in the Olympic family until 1936. The predominant country is Argentina with England as the European dominant. I was assigned to take the photos during the annual Stockholm Polo Open last August. With players galloping at speeds up to 60km an hour, it was a real challenge. The hat parade was a lot easier! Ericsson Cape Town, South Africa

My third South African assignment in less than 18 months!

This time we were shooting dancers at the Taal Monument outside Cape town. The monument represents the different languages spoken in S.A. We spent four days shooting at the monument, each day starting before sunrise. Whilst having breakfast, we could enjoy the first rays of sunlight hitting the upper part of the construction. It is really a beautiful location, it is huge and the angles, bends and corners make the sun rays play interestingly most of the morning and in the late afternoon making it easy to catch a variety of lighting in the photos.
